1 medium onion, chopped
1 large jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped
2 cloves garlic, Crushed
16 oz. can stewed tomatoes
6 cups chicken broth
1 can tomato soup
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
Pinch of sugar
Dash of tobasco sauce
Grated Sharp cheddar cheese (to taste)
Saute onion, pepper and garlic in vegetable oil until limp.
Add tomatoes, chicken broth, and tomato soup.
Add sugar, cumin, chili powder, and salt.
Stir the ingredients.
Add pepper, Worcestershire Sauce and Tabasco.
Simmer 1 1/2 hours (uncovered) over low heat.
Garnish soup with tortilla chips and grated sharp cheddar cheese (to taste).
