Chocolate Chip Cake
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter (1 stick), softened
1 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened
1-1/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
6 oz. milk chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 cups cake flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup milk
Method:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Grease and flour a 9-inch tube pan.
Sift together cake flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt in a bowl and set aside
Mix together cinnamon, pecans and brown sugar in a small bowl and set aside.
Mix butter, cream cheese and sugar together well in a large bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed.
Add eggs and vanilla and beat well.
Add prepared dry ingredient flour mixture alternately in thirds with milk, mixing well after each addition.
Stir in chocolate chips.
Pour 1/3 of the batter into prepared tube pan. Sprinkle with 1/2 nut / cinnamon mixture.
Pour 1/3 more of the batter over this. Sprinkle with the rest of the nut / cinnamon mixture.
Pour the remaining batter over this.
Bake for 50 to 60 minutes until tests done with a toothpick
