1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup chopped dates
1 egg, beaten
1 pinch salt
2 cups crispy rice cereal
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Method:Melt butter over low heat in a heavy saucepan.
Add sugar, egg, dates and salt. Cook on medium low heat until thick.
Remove from heat and add vanilla.
Stir in rice cereal and nuts.
Drop by teaspoonfuls into coconut and roll in a ball until covered.
Dry on wax paper and store in an airtight container
