3 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons onion, chopped
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1-1/2 cups milk
2 (6-1/2 oz.) cans tuna, drained
2 cups soft bread cubes
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 (10 oz.) package frozen peas, cooked and drained
1 medium carrot, shredded
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
Melt 3 tablespoons butter in heavy saucepan. Add flour, salt and pepper. Stir to blend. Add milk and stir well. Place on medium heat and stir constantly until sauce thickens.
Remove from heat and add tuna.
In 8-inch square baking dish, toss bread cubes in 2 tablespoons melted butter. Add peas and carrot.
Pour cream sauce over vegetables and top with shredded cheddar cheese.
Cover well for freezing.
When ready to bake, remove from freezer and preheat oven to 350°F. Bake for 35–45 minutes.
