6 Half-Pint Jars
3 pints fresh blueberries or 1 quart frozen berries
3 cups sugar
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
1/4 cup water
Grated zest of 1 medium sized orange
2 medium-size sticks whole cinnamon
Combine all ingredients in a heavy saucepan.
Bring mixture to a boil and turn down heat to a slow simmer.
Continue cooking for 30 minutes until a small ball forms when dropped in a dish of ice water.
Remove from heat and discard cinnamon sticks. Pour immediately into hot sterilized pint jars and seal.
Process in a boiling water bath for 5 minutes or cool and store in refrigerator
