Meet Chef Joe Castro

Who is Chef Joe?
Joe Castro is a nationally renowned chef who teaches GE customers how to cook using GE Monogram® products at the Monogram Experience Center in Louisville, KY. After deciding to become a chef in the early 1980s, Chef Joe honed his culinary skills by cooking all over the world, including an internship in Taiwan. In 1988, he became executive sous chef for the Lucie restaurant in Washington D.C., and in 1992, he moved to the Brown Hotel in Louisville as executive chef for the on-site restaurant, The English Grill. The English Grill has an outstanding reputation, with a four-diamond rating from AAA, among other honors. Chef Joe joined GE in 2006 after learning of the teaching opportunities at the Monogram Experience Center. Now Chef Joe has the best of both worlds. He is able to prepare four-star dinners for Experience Center guests, then he gets to lead them as they prepare their own meals in their state-of-the-art Monogram cooking stations.
